WEDNESDAY  ARCHIVE  |  PEP SQUAD  MAILING LIST  GEAR  REQUEST LINE  ROCK DOC  CONNECT

brothers, ian (vocals, guitar, piano), simone (drums, vocals, guitar) and james (vocals, accordion, organ, piano) formed their band the felice brothers along with additional founding member christmas (bass and ex-traveling dice player), in the catskills in upstate ny back in 2006.

the band honed their folksy, americana, roots rock skills as children performing every sunday afternoon during cookouts at their dad's house.  soon after, they moved to brooklyn and found themselves in the subway station near 42nd street and union square performing accordion driven stories about loners and old-time cowboys.  lyrically, their work finds inspiration in woodie guthrie and bob dylan.  in fact, maverick magazine wrote, "these are songs that give a real taste of being young, broke, and american."

their first e.p., the very rough, self recorded through these reigns and gone, was actually recorded in a chicken coop.  as a result of heavy touring, it soon found a solid following.  on march 4, 2008 their debut l.p., the felice brothers was released on conor oberst’s (bright eyes) team love records.

check back here to find out when the felice brothers are coming to your town.

as always, please buy this album from your local independent music store by people who know and love music and not from retailers like wal-mart (soulless, globally-homogenizing, community-killers) or i-tunes (albums should be listened to as an entire composition with album cover and liner notes in hand).  incidentally, these two companies sell more music than any other retailer in the united states.  that my friend, bites.

the felice brothers rock.

if you agree, please spread the word (about the band and this site).
