along with producer chris walla (death cab for cutie guitarist), identical twins tegan and sara quin released their fifth l.p. on 24 july 2007, the energetic the con.  the canadian heartthrobs first gained the attention of indie music fans back in 1998 when they earned the highest score in the history of the "garage warz", a garage band competition with a snappy name (note to self: if ever in the position to use the letter "z" to designate the plural form of a word, don't).

but i digress. soon after they were touring with the likes of neil young, rufus wainright, and ryan adams (NOT bryan adams) among others.   you may be familiar with tegan and sara's hit songs "walking with a ghost" and "speak slow" off of their hugely successful 2004 l.p. so jealous.

it seems like tegan and sara have been touring since their first album dropped back in 1999.  check out their website or click here to find out if they are coming to your town.  if they are, please go!  i have seen them twice and i promise you their charming and witty stage presence won't leave you disappointed.

as always, please buy this album from your local independent music store and not from retailers like wal-mart (soulless, globally-homogenizing, community-killers) or i-tunes (albums should be listened to as an entire composition with album cover and liner notes in hand).  incidentally, these two companies sell more music than any other retailer in the united states.  that my friend, bites.
