WEDNESDAY  ARCHIVE  |  PEP SQUAD  MAILING LIST  GEAR  REQUEST LINE  ROCK DOC  CONNECT

don't be embarassed if you've never heard of randy reynolds or his nom de song leatherbag, i just found out about him a few months ago myself.  i'm really excited that i did.  in 2005, the native houstonian relocated to austin as a result of hurricane rita and a failing four-month marriage; he quickly become a central figure of the austin music scene.

randy said of his third album, love & harm, released april 29, 2008 that he decided "i was going to write every kind of song that i know how to write.”  every track is different, each exploring different styles and genres ultimately forming a concise eight-tracked body.  however you look at it, love & harm is just plain good: it's a good rock and roll album; it's a good folk album; it's a good indie album.

leatherbag has a few dates scheduled.  check back here to see when he adds additional dates.

don't forget, to hear leatherbag, the album cover image always links to sample songs and randy's image to the website.

as always, please buy this album from your local independent music store by people who know and love music and not from retailers like wal-mart (soulless, globally-homogenizing, community-killers) or i-tunes (albums should be listened to as an entire composition with album cover and liner notes in hand).  incidentally, these two companies sell more music than any other retailer in the united states.  that my friend, bites.

leatherbag rocks.

if you agree, please spread the word (about the band and this site).
